Expertise

My expertise lies in infectious disease epidemiology. Early research topics focused on the epidemiology of Streptococcus pneumonia, investigating its interaction with other common respiratory pathogens, particularly with influenza viruses during influenza pandemics. Since arriving at the Department of Public Health at the National Cheng Kung University in the Fall of 2015, my research focuses have changed to dengue fever and other mosquito-borne infectious diseases, including serosurveys in the community and newly arrived migrant workers, mathematical models, potential long-term health effects of dengue virus infection and pathogenesis of dengue fever.
